Growth of the great green cucumber
It has taken me a bit to get back to posting, I originally had the title of this section about cucumber’s as May 2021, now it is June…Ufda.
Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting.

So here we are in June, July just on our heals in this more “normal” 2021. The cucumbers I had planted in March are now 3 months grown and a few weeks. I have already been able to harvest 7 fat stocky cucumbers. Not bad for having 6ish plants in pots. I utilized my article on how to create your own trellis in order to help give the little plants something to climb.
One burden with growing these guys is the heat that Texas has already been providing since the end of May. I have on several occasions discovered the leaves wilted, luckily a good dose of water restores the cucumber plant back to its full leafiness.
Going to wrap up this little update.
One good thing to note is the difference between male and female flowers on a cucumber plant. You can see below the male/female flower and how there is a mini looking cucumber just below the flower on the female.
